The Institute of Soil and Water Resources – Sindos Research Unit of ELGO-DIMITRA installed telemetric stations with self-recording instruments for continuous measurement of water level or water level and flow velocity at 20-25 river locations across the country, which are part of the National Monitoring Network. The installation was carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Action “Operation of the National Monitoring and Recording Network for the Quantity (rivers) and Quality (rivers and lakes) of Surface Waters of the Country” of the Operational Program “Environment and Climate Change 2021-2027”.

The continuous acquisition and management of a large volume of data from these telemetric stations created the need for the development and operation of a specialized system-software for the acquisition, storage, management, investigation, and visualization of environmental parameter data. The system is based on the use of interactive dashboards, with the ability to transform and combine data to produce new insights, the ability to create queries both with and without the use of artificial intelligence, and finally, with the ability to organize updates and notifications.
